Black Palm is not really a wood but part of the grass family. The black splinters embedded into the lighter fiber creates a very unique grain pattern. Density can vary as the outer part of the palm tree is denser than the inner part. Most commonly used for turned items, such as tool and knife handles, it can also be used for furniture or flooring.
